Electronic displays of affection
Passenger information displays designed and manufactured by Infotec are playing cupid today!
Southeastern trains invited passengers to let them know if they wanted to share a special message with a loved one who uses its services and have it appear at the station they use.
And it has proved to be just the February 14 ticket for some couples.
Among those displaying their feelings on station screens are Rupert, who asked that his “Happy Valentine’s Day lovely Bex xx” go on the screens at Beckenham Junction when the 13.25 to Victoria came in.
Earlier in the day, Stephanie, expected at Canterbury West for the 10.25 to St Pancras, had the words “I love you Stephanie, can’t wait to see you – Alex” on screen for her.
And an Infotec special notices board in Lewisham station was set up to say: “Happy Valentine’s Day Mannard! 2 months to go!”.
Next train indicator and summary of departures boards in other stations including Lower Sydenham and Whitstable were also being used.
One of the many beneficial features of Infotec’s passenger information displays is that staff in individual stations can use the Infotec content management system to send special notices to individual or sets of displays.
Commenting on the Valentine’s Day messages, Infotec Managing Director Tim Court said:
“We think this is a great idea from Southeastern and we are pleased our products helped make it possible. We hope the electronic displays of affection brightened the day for everyone.”
