Scottish stations display renewals
Scores of displays supplied to Scotland include drop-in replacement mainboards and sub-surface compliant units.
Infotec has completed the shipping of over 270 displays for a major stations renewal programme in Scotland.
Glasgow Central (pictured), Glasgow Queen Street, Edinburgh Haymarket, Waverley, Charing Cross, Argyle Street and Inverness are stations among those benefiting.
The scores of displays delivered for install by Infotec to AMCO Giffen over the past six months have included drop-in replacement mainboards for Glasgow Central, Edinburgh Waverley and Inverness.
Many of the original mainboards were supplied by Infotec back in 2003 and, although the displays were still fully functional, they were no longer supported from a maintenance point of view and consequently considered at risk.
The majority of the displays have re-used existing steelwork but, where necessary, Infotec’s mechanical engineers were able to visit sites and produce bespoke designs and manufacturing services to complete the work.
Many of the displays make use of Infotec’s sub-surface compliant display technology which was needed at the lower-level locations at Glasgow Central, Argyle Street and Charing Cross.
With the majority of the new displays using Infotec LED technology, we would expect the displays to see another 20 years of operation - great for passengers and the taxpayer, but maybe not for us!
